Here's some practical advice for maximum enjoyment of the Ithaca area. Plan your visit in the Finger Lakes to coincide with one of communities many festivals and events. From the wacky Ithaca Festival and inexplicable unique attractions such as the "Rutabaga Curl," to the educational Winter Recess, and wholesome Apple Harvest Festival, there's always something fun going on for the whole family. If possible, we recommend timing a portion of your stay in one of Ithaca's local hotels or cabins during midweek when things are less hectic. Weekends, particularly in midsummer and fall, are extremely busy and often require advance reservations. Similarly, you'll want to book your accommodations early for holiday and graduation weekends.
