Ithaca, NY (Oct. 14, 2010) -- Local bed and breakfasts are offering free rooms for veterans and active duty military the night of Nov. 10 as part of a nationwide program honoring service personal on Veterans Day.

The inns are among 500 in the United States and Canada that have joined forces in "BnBs for Vets," a one-day salute to those who serve. Sixteen inns in the Ithaca area are taking part in the program, the most in New York State. Most are members of Bed & Breakfast of Greater Ithaca, the local B&B association.

The free rooms are available first-come, first-served to current military personnel and retired military with valid military or VA ID. Space is limited and bookings must be made directly with the individual inns.
