The ultimate rock & roll session man, Leon Russell’s long and storied career includes collaborations with a virtual who’s who of music icons spanning from Jerry Lee Lewis to Phil Spector to the Rolling Stones. A similar eclecticism and scope also surfaced in his solo work, which couched his charmingly gravelly voice in a rustic yet rich swamp pop fusion of country, blues, and gospel.

CCS presents Roby Lakatos Ensemble

Mixing the fire of Hungarian-gypsy music with classical technique and a gift for improvisation, violinist Roby Lakatos is that rare musician who defies definition. A seventh generation fiddler, Lakatos’ mastery and musicianship have earned him the title “The Devil’s Fiddler” and “The King of Gypsy Violin.”

JOE CROOKSTON CD Release Concert

From Ithaca, NY, Joe Crookston and his longtime DUO partner Peter Glanville will pick and twist their way through a high energy and sonically lush set of Joe Crookston originals on the Hangar Theatre stage on Saturday, April 26 at 8:00 pm. The concert is the Ithaca CD release of Crookston’s much-anticipated fourth recording “Georgia I’m Here.” The concert will be preceded at 6:30 pm by an art reception showcasing Crookston’s paintings, with local wine and refreshments.

25-minute chamber work Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano, featuring the brilliant and in-demand classical musicians Mark Dover (clarinet) and Andrew Janns(cello) from NYC. The 2nd set features The Phrase-Shifters featuring Nicholas DiEugenio (violin) and Renato Hanriot (bandoneon/accordion. Lastly, the wonderful, soulful and powerful vocalist Cookie Coogan will join John to make a duo, for some tunes and slow blues.

Ithaca Ballet's Giselle

The Ithaca Ballet proudly presents the timeless romantic ballet Giselle. Giselle remains one of the most popular ballets worldwide because of its’ compelling story. Music by Adolphe Adam, staged by artistic director Cindy Reid. The Ithaca Ballet company is joined by guest dancers from Providence ballet, Tusa ballet and New York City to make this a spectacular production.

Featured Exhibition @ Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University - Leo Villareal: Cosmos
An homage to the late Cornell astronomy professor Carl Sagan, Cosmos is the most recent site-specific installation by New York-based artist Leo Villareal (born 1967), a pioneer in the use of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and computer-driven imagery.
