Silver Queen Farm is located between Cayuga and Seneca lakes, on 97 acres of rich glacial/aluvial soils. Their focus is on growing high quality fruits and vegetables in a sustainable manner and providing a fun healthy farm experience for their customers. They grow a large selection of fruits and vegetables, some of which are available u-pick.
Update as of Summer 2013: Silver Queen Farm and H&J Hospitality are teaming up for a series of farm-to-table dinners and brunches, which will take be held at the event space at Silver Queen Farm in Trumansburg, NY. Guests at the farm-to-table meals will have the opportunity to take a walking tour of the farm, which features crops being used as ingredients in the meals. Farm owner Gordon Gallop believes diners should "get a chance to see how their food is grown and ask the grower questions about the farm." Gallop says, "Farm-to-table events help foster a closer connection between consumers and the growers of their food, as well as bring out a better understanding of how to eat locally."
Silver Queen Farm is well known as a local "u-pick" strawberry farm, and is a regular vendor at nearby farmers markets with a variety of produce. The farm offers a CSA, and their event space is available as a venue for catered functions. H&J Hospitality operates Joe's Restaurant, a landmark eatery in Ithaca's west end dating back to the 1930s. The company also provides catering services.
Reservations are required, and tickets are available on the H&J Hospitality web site. Dinners will cost $35 or $15 for children, and brunches will cost $25 or $12 for children.
