Family-Friendly Eclipse Activities
Bring the whole family along for a day of eclipse-themed fun. Ithaca's hands-on Children’s Sciencenter is gearing up for the eclipse with special programs designed for families and youngsters to learn and experience the eclipse together. Spark the curiosity of your little ones and let them discover the magic of science through engaging and interactive eclipse activities.
Approximately 700 runners are expected at Cornell University’s Barton Hall for the 41st Annual Skunk Cabbage Classic 10K & Half Marathon on April 7. The theme is “Total Eclipse of the Skunk,” and there will be an eclipse-themed shirt and eclipse glasses.
Other Eclipse Events
The Cherry Arts will host the English-language debut of “Carbon,” an Italian play about a man who meets an extra-terrestrial, April 4-14. With an Ithaca connection to Carl Sagan’s Voyager 1 photograph selections, this stunning, award-winning new play from Italy explores what it means to be human in the infinity of the universe.
Ten wineries along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail are offering special experiences along with a bingo-esque game to celebrate this rare event! Sips to the Eclipse will take place from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7.

A motorcoach bus departs from downtown Ithaca and takes you to Fair Haven State Park for an official viewing with presenters from the Sciencenter and NY State Parks.
