Across our local communities, county, region, state, and nation, we acknowledge 2026 as the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Ithaca and Tompkins County are often first recognized for their natural history and beautiful landscape, there is also a rich history of founders, writers, scientists, makers and artists who have shaped our communities. 

We will highlight community celebrations, historic tours, and other events taking place for locals and visitors alike.
