Each Fall, Ithaca welcomes newcomers to the community, who soon become life-long lovers of the majestic natural beauty, vibrant community culture, and serene surroundings of Ithaca’s lakeside, gorges, and waterfalls. Fall foliage is abundant and there are many different ways to enjoy it throughout the season in Ithaca.

Ithaca and the Finger Lakes are making a name for themselves as a burgeoning craft cider destination. Ithaca is cider. Fall is peak season to explore and taste the variety of ciders, even thoughtfully paired with food. Come sample the region's best craft cider, most cideries now recommend or require a reservation. You'll also find cider makers pouring that the Farmer's Market.

Downtown Ithaca is known for being a vibrant community, welcoming people from all over the world. Fall is an especially fun time to visit the Downtown Ithaca Commons, you'll find shops open with locally made items and restaurant menus featuring the flavors of the season. Due to NY State guidelines in response to COVID-19, the Annual Apple Harvest Festival  has been reimagined as Apple Festive, September 28th through October 4th --  to enjoy apples and apple products safely, responsibly, and socially distant.

U-pick Experiences and Farm Visits

Explore the hillsides surrounding downtown Ithaca to visit farms, meet goats, and pick something fresh directly from the source. Most markets, farms, and farm stands are open through the end of October, plan to wear a mask and confirm hours ahead of time.
